U10 WANDERERS WELCOME RETURN OF THE ZACH

U10 WANDERERS WELCOME RETURN OF THE ZACH

Graham Black5 Oct - 12:00

Cranfield Colts provide strong test for Wanderers

The Wanderers welcome back Zach Olding who has been sorely missed in the early season games. As the first quarter kicks off Alfie and Zach defend well putting in some good passes from the back and Zach gets a good header away to prevent some early danger. Wanderers are unlucky to concede an early goal but that doesn’t dent the confidence as balls are swept out onto the wing to Theo who is creating good space and dazzling with some mazy runs. Devon pops up with a good shot which is spilled by the keeper and Albi is in the right place at the right time to pop it home.

The second quarter starts with Luca getting stuck in and putting good balls forward and Shay threatening in midfield. Henry is a rock in goal again keeping us in it and Wanderers attack well increasing the pressure. Fred is battling strong as ever, moving the team forward. Devon produces a piece of magic with a shot from 25 yards out that nestles in the bottom right hand corner with the keeper well and truly beaten. Zach is again calm and composed on the ball as Wanderers come under attack and the post is rattled. Henry is saving well, feet and fingertips all keeping Wanderers in the fight and we are unlucky to concede a shot from the edge of the box which flys in.

Wanderers come out and fight hard with Shay taking on players and getting his passes off. Alfie forces a corner and then crosses in quickly across the goal face but unfortunately Wanderers struggle to get on the end of it. The opposition are getting stronger and a great team goal sees the top left bins hit. Wanderers defend well with Henry saving and shots cleared off the line. Theo grazes a shot just past the post as the whistle goes for full time. Wanderers played well today and were a little unlucky against a strong organised team. Player of the match awarded to Zach who is BACK and we’ve missed him!!!
