The first game of the year ended in disappointment for Porto. This was a below par performance where mistakes proved costly. It showed that if you don't have enough intent, or if you're half a yard off you get opened up.

Porto were quite passive, but when they attached with purpose, they showed promise. Tom didn't stop running all game and it was his determination which resulted in a goal. There were chances, and had they been converted Porto could have been back in the game.

Players of the match were Finn, for his willpower to make tackles and selflessness by taking on goalkeeping duties when Nathan was injured. And Stan for working hard including some delightful crosses, which led to Aiden finishing neatly.

Porto need to re-group, work hard at training, and use next week as a chance to show what they can do.
